Rapid action, minimal damage

How our management team deals with unexpected situations

An unexpected report from the neighborhood: “There are people walking across the solar park, but we don't know if they belong here.” Immediately our Asset Management team switched gears. The systems were checked for deviations in, for example, the park's production, an invigilator was called in, and not much later the invigilators discovered a hole in the fence at the solar park. “No one is there anymore, but it looks like a break-in. Possibly something was taken. We will call the police immediately.”

Although there were no cameras at this park, our administrators took immediate action. The first priority: stabilize the situation and prevent further damage. A security company was contacted and installed sensors and temporary cameras the same afternoon to prevent possible further damage. Meanwhile, asset manager Senne was talking to the surrounding area and the police, while Kazim focused on the systems and Richard helped with practical matters.

Recovery and prevention
After being reported to the police, the extent of the damage was recorded. The system was checked to determine what was still functioning and what parts needed to be replaced. New cables were then installed and tested after which an inspection took place. The park owners were kept informed of all developments and the decision was made to temporarily secure the park. The temporary security system required electricity. Our team quickly arranged a temporary power supply.

Proactive monitoring
“The good cooperation between the maintenance party and the security company enabled us to act so quickly. In addition, through our fault line, all data and thus production deviations are checked daily,'' says Kazim. “As soon as something deviates, we are on standby. By acting quickly, we managed to minimize losses. With this break-in, after stabilizing the situation, we worked out a proposal to prevent this kind of situation in the future. After all, security is an essential part of professional management. An extra nice bonus is that we work in a team where cooperation is fast and smooth, which makes my job even more fun.''
